Moratorium on Open Pen Finfish Farms on the Eastern Shore

The following is a petition that we are asking people of the Eastern Shore to sign. APES has learned that Snow Island Inc. has intentions of applying for  four (4) fish feedlot licenses on the Eastern Shore. These feedlots pose a risk to our lobster and other wild catch fishery and tourism on our shore. The jobs that have been promised with this industry have not come. In Jordan Bay there are 4 seasonal workers who work on the feedlot and 35 lobster fishers have been displaced. We will forward this petition to the provincial government and to our M.L.A.’s.
